Liliana en el Líbano Welcome “Where words die music born” W. Shakespeare Liliana Maffiotte Spanish pianist born in Barcelona, she obtained Superior Title at Liceo Conservatoire and extended her studies in Paris. She was awarded the Gold Medal in the International Competition “Viotti” in Italy and First Medal and French Music Interpretation Award in the International Competition Maria Canals in Barcelona. She has performed several tours as a solist around Europe, Southamerica, Central America and Central Africa, offering recitals and master classes in several universities in the USA It was specially relevant her presentation in the URSS with performances in Leningrado (Revolution Museum), Moscow (Scientists Palace) and Minsk (Opera Theatre). In 1984 she recorded an LP with Poulenc and Satie plays and she obtains the National Prize of the Ministry of Culture in Spain. She is very linked to contemporary music and has been invited to take part in Internacional Festivals: Vence (Fenice Theatre), La Habana (Amadeo Roldan Theatre), Geneva, Paris (UNESCO Palace and Cortot may), Barcelona (Music Palace), etc. She has premièred many plays from different composers (Montsalvatge,Guinjoan,Mestres Quadreny etc.), a few of them specially devoted to L. Maffiotte. To recognise her task, she was awarded the National Music Award from Generalitat de Catalunya, for the Best Contemporary Music Interpreter. Among her records, we can oustand a CD with plays from Mozart with Monserrat Caballé and the Quintet Vocal of Catalunya, the CD Endreça with the tenor D.
